The Caribbean-facing shoreline offers calm conditions year-round, with the driest weather from December through April. Late afternoons are ideal for sunset watching, as the western peninsula provides unobstructed views. Weekends attract families from Ponce and surrounding towns, so weekday visits offer more space. Summer holidays and long weekends see the highest crowds.

Getting there & safety

🧭

Access

Short path. Free unpaved parking area near the food kiosks with approximately 30 to 40 spaces available for visitors. The lot fills up by midday on weekends and holidays, especially during summer months and long holiday weekends. Additional overflow parking is available along the access road leading to the beach, though spots there require a longer walk to the sand.

⚠️

Swim smart

Calm Caribbean waters make this beach generally safe for swimming and suitable for families with young children. No lifeguard is on duty at any time. Watch carefully for jet ski traffic near the shore when the watersport rental concession is operating, as motorized watercraft launch from a designated area along the beach. Keep children well away from the jet ski launch zone and banana boat departure point.
