Puerto Nuevo's star attraction is its natural limestone rock formations creating a protected saltwater lagoon — a calm natural swimming pool shielded from the open Atlantic. Enjoyable nearly year-round.

Best months: May through September for warmest water. The dry season (December–April) offers less rain and comfortable 78–85°F temperatures.

The pool is shallow on edges (under 3 feet) and deeper in the center, with water almost always calm regardless of ocean conditions. Continuously flushed by gentle waves, keeping water fresh and clear. This makes it one of the safest swimming beaches for children in Puerto Rico. Blue Flag certified for water quality.
